Özge Gökbulut Özdemir

Assoc.Prof. Dr. Özge Gökbulut Özdemir (1982,Ankara) 

She graduated from Hacettepe University Department of Economics in 2004 and completed her MBA in 2007 and PhD in 2011 in Ankara University Business Administration Department with her thesis on Turkish Art Industry: “Cognitive and Institutional Environmental Factors in The Opportunity Exploration and Opportunity Exploitation Processes and The Effects on The Value of Innovation”. She continued master’s and doctorate courses on Advertising and Public Relations at the Communication Faculties of Ankara and Anadolu Universities and completed painting and photography courses at Hacettepe University Faculty of Fine Arts while participated in pattern and graphic studies in various art workshops. She became Associate Professor in 2017 in Marketing. She is working marketing and entrepreneurship on the link between art-society-business both in theory and practice. She is focusing the place, city and cultural value issues in terms of co-creation and new value perspectives of marketing. She has various academic researches on art industry, cultural value, art entrepreneurship and the contributions of art to business. She has designed “Interaction with Art Project” series in the campus in order to close the gap between art and society aiming the university students who are from social and scientific disciplines. While she is working on “alternative places” context in the scope of arts marketing and the city culture she created some projects linking art and society in terms of the social and cultural value perspective and designs exhibitions in physical and online platforms in the societal context that creates data for her experimental researches. Likewise, in her academic works, as an artist she handles with various themes such as duality, contrast, co-creation, existence and survival in the context of individual versus environment in an abstract way in different forms and materials besides paintings. Her works were exhibited in more than 30 national and international exhibitions such as in France, Italy, Japan, USA and Greece including her solo exhibition “On the Way” in 2019 in Ankara. She is working on various art industry and cultural value projects in Liverpool John Moores University Business School as a visiting scholar. While attending the art and society project Light Night 2020 with a painting installation in Metropolitan Cathedral, she is also working on her new exhibition series which will take place in the LJMU Liverpool School of Art and Design PES and Atrium Galleries as an extended venue of Liverpool Biennial 2020. As a cultural entrepreneur she is one of the founder member of www.tamsanat.net (online art and culture platform, founded in 2011 as an art entrepreneurship project in order to create a new value in art industry). She is managing the international marketing activities of tamsanat.net while curating the online exhibitions. She has received 5 awards in art and 6 in science. She is member of scientific and artistic institutions such as ECSB (European Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship), PPAD (Market and Marketing Research Association) LJMU Entrepreneurship and Small Business Group, KÜME Art.
